Ahyeon-dong Jeon Alley is not especially old compared with the market’s history; of the five shops open today, the oldest opened in the early 1990s. Short as its history is, the lively jeon (Korean pancake) alley in a traditional-market setting has become an indispensable place of memory. Prices are also low, so sharing an assortment of jeon and makgeolli (rice wine) for two leaves you full and in good spirits. Many people come here to look back on themselves amid the scene of an old market, and the everyday lives of working people making a living have themselves become history.
