Visit details

Amorepacific Museum of Art grew out of a museum that exhibited works collected by the late Sung-whan Suh, founder of Amorepacific. In 2009 the name was changed to Amorepacific Museum of Art (APMA), and it continues to present exhibitions. It was founded to communicate with the public as an open space for discovering beauty in everyday life. To that end it collects, studies, and exhibits Korean antique art and contemporary art from Korea and abroad, and supports researchers, academic societies, and young artists. The basement gallery hosts a wide range of curated shows spanning antique, contemporary, and Korean art. On the first floor of the large atrium that rises through the first to third floors are the museum lobby, a museum shop, the exhibition space APMA Cabinet, and apLAP, a library of exhibition catalogs from around the world. The museum occupies the first floor of Amorepacific’s new headquarters in Yongsan, a well-known building inspired by white porcelain.
