Visit details

Named for Heo Jun (1539–1615), author of Donguibogam (25 volumes, 3,106 pages), who was born and died in Gongam, after Seoul built a neighborhood park with nearby housing. Before Olympic Boulevard, the Hangang reached a cliff at Tapsan with two pillar-like rocks called Gwangjuam. The rocks were kept by building a new lakeside. Nearby lore includes Gongam ferry, Heoga Rock (Yangcheon Heo clan origin cave), and about 1 km away Yangcheon Hyanggyo, Yangcheon fortress site, and Soaknu site. A statue of Heo treating a patient stands on the north hill of the lake.
