Sister Park was created on a Turkish theme to commemorate the sister-city relationship between Seoul and Ankara, Turkey, and opened in May 1977. Ankara House in the park is a two-story building in the form of a traditional Ankara vineyard farmhouse; it was built in 1992 and opened as a folk exhibition hall in 1995. Traditional Turkish living spaces are recreated inside, and some 800 folk objects are on display, including traditional costumes and handicrafts from the Ottoman period. The first floor has a prayer room, living room, and kitchen, and the second floor has a reception room, guest room, and bedroom, so visitors can experience Turkish residential culture. Benches placed throughout the park are a popular rest spot for office workers in the city.
