Visit details

Royal and noble tombs of Baekje’s Hanseong period. Japanese-era surveys reported about 300 tombs in Seokchon-dong and Garak-dong; only a western portion remains. Excavations since the 1970s found seven large stone-pile tombs and more than 30 pit and jar burials. Tomb 3 is 50.8 m wide and 4.5 m high in three terraces and is thought to be King Geunchogo’s tomb. Surveys since 2015 by Hanseong Baekje Museum found linked square-platform tombs, Baekje pottery, gold ornaments, and cremated bone, in a style similar to Goguryeo sites.
