One-day accessible Seoul itinerary (places only)
A conservative first-day sequence: Gyeongbokgung’s main courts, then the National Museum of Korea in Yongsan. Official indoor access is relatively strong; sidewalks and station exits are still yours to verify.

Scope
This itinerary lists places, not sidewalks. We have not scored the last 200 metres between stations and gates. Treat every transfer as something you still verify with an elevator exit number.
The day is intentionally short. Palaces look compact on a map and feel large in a chair. A modern museum in the afternoon is the recovery move.
Morning — Gyeongbokgung Palace
Start at Gyeongbokgung while you have energy. Official barrier-free text typically records a ramped main entrance, wheelchair rental, and an accessible restroom; most of the visit is still outdoor stone. Keep to the main courts. The palace-by-palace comparison — including why Changdeokgung’s Secret Garden is optional and Bukchon is not an add-on — is /guides/seoul-palaces-wheelchair.
Check Tuesday closure and last admission on royal.khs.go.kr or the palace site. We do not quote ticket prices. Companion support on packed-earth and granite makes a large difference in a manual chair.
- Check Tuesday closure and last admission
- Ask which gate has the ramp, not only “Gwanghwamun”
- Identify the accessible restroom on arrival
- Do not add Bukchon on the same morning

Midday — toward Yongsan
Travel south toward Yongsan. The National Museum of Korea is a 2005 building with elevators, galleries by period and theme, and official restroom / indoor-access language that is stronger than historic villages.
The museum’s own site and KTO listing describe permanent collection admission as free, with charges possible for special exhibitions. Hours and closed days belong on museum.go.kr — do not copy an old blog.
Ichon Station (Line 4 and the Gyeongui–Jungang Line) is the usual rail mention. Confirm the elevator to the museum side. If the transfer from Gyeongbokgung looks messy (Line 3 to Line 4), a taxi or Danurim minivan for that one hop can save the afternoon.

Evening — back to a City Hall / Myeongdong base
If you are staying near City Hall, Euljiro, or Myeongdong, return before peak fatigue. Hotel restaurants and a short neighborhood loop beat adding Namsan on day one.
Save Changdeokgung, DDP, and N Seoul Tower for later days. Each has a different unknown: partial palace routes, interior ramps, or a hill approach.
Backup if the palace surface is too rough
Skip the inner courtyards and spend more time at the museum, or reverse the day if Tuesday closes Gyeongbokgung. Unknown elevator data at historic sites is a reason to shorten, not to push.
