Jongmyo is the royal shrine for Joseon kings and queens and those later honored, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site in December 1995. The grounds include a rebuilt well said to have been used by kings visiting Jongmyo, a statue of Yi Sang-jae, and green rest space. Jongmyo Plaza Park of 39,669 m² in front has parking and is used as a public rest area.
