Visit details

Sewoon Electronics Mall is Korea’s first comprehensive electronics market, in Jongno. Goods include electrical parts and materials, computer chips, audio, appliances, CCTV, arcade and karaoke machines, and lighting, with craftspeople who repair devices. TG Sambo, Hangul & Computer, and Commax are said to have started here. The site was a Japanese wartime firebreak; after the Korean War it held shacks until Korea’s first downtown redevelopment, designed by Kim Swoo-geun, opened as Sewoon in 1968. Four floors cover appliance wholesale, household appliances, electrical and electronic parts, and repair shops. It appears as Geumga Plaza in the drama Vincenzo.
