Kids Auto Park is a children’s traffic-safety experience center behind Sangsang Nara inside Seoul Children’s Grand Park. It was founded jointly by an NGO (Korea Life Safety Association), a company (Hyundai Motor Group), and a local government (Seoul Metropolitan Government) to educate children so they can learn traffic safety easily and enjoyably through experience, and to raise advanced traffic citizens. On a 3,000-square-meter site, a driving course, traffic lights, and other features are arranged so children can drive cars and experience traffic culture. Facilities include a virtual auto experience, a pedestrian education area, a driving education area, a traffic-safety licensing test site, and auto booths. Through 3D video, visitors can take part in a range of education programs including virtual experience, seat-belt practice, and walking practice. Programs at Kids Auto Park use experience cars modeled on past Hyundai models and built to run in a stable, comfortable way. Advance reservation on the website is required before visiting.
Elementary school children in grades 1 through 4 who complete the elementary experience program are issued a children’s traffic-safety license after taking tests (written, walking, and driving).
