Visit details

Namsan Park, officially Namsan Urban Nature Park, is a downtown green rest area with N Seoul Tower and the Namsan cable car. The mountain was once Ingyeongsan; after King Taejo moved the capital it was called Namsan, the southern mountain. From 1991 an eight-year restoration moved 89 unwanted buildings and added an outdoor plant garden across Jung-gu and Yongsan-gu. Love locks sit on the way to the tower observatory. Since 1 May 2005 private cars and taxis have been barred from the park; circular buses, the cable car, or walking from Myeongdong, Chungmuro, or Dongguk University Station are used instead.
