Visit details

Seoul Museum of Craft Art opened in July 2021 in Anguk-dong, Jongno-gu, in five remodeled buildings of former Pungmun Girls’ High School. It is Korea’s first public craft museum, aiming to share craft objects, knowledge, records, people, and settings. About 20,000 craft works and documents are held, with exhibitions on craft history, contemporary and regional craft, children’s craft, an archive, library, collections system, and installation projects. The site was once Prince Yeongeung’s house and Anguk-dong detached palace for Sunjong’s wedding, and a center for Joseon capital artisans (gyeonggongjang), near Bukchon, Insadong, and Gyeongbokgung.
