Since opening in 1982, Kukje Gallery has been a leading Korean gallery, offering the chance to encounter and appreciate the work and currents of internationally renowned contemporary artists. It has played a pioneering role in introducing and exhibiting major overseas artists such as Helen Frankenthaler, Sam Francis, Jim Dine, Frank Stella, Robert Mangold, and Anthony Caro, and its importance is recognized at home and abroad. The gallery works directly with artists around the world and with their galleries and art dealers to plan exhibitions. It has devoted itself to discovering promising artists, supporting ongoing production, and building pathways and a support base for the international stage, while also supporting Korean artists and introducing them to the global art world.
