The Sejong Center for the Performing Arts is an institution founded by Seoul Metropolitan Government and a leading arts organization of Seoul. Completed in 1978, it has served as a cradle of Korean performing culture and a hub of Seoul’s performing arts. Recognized among the world’s leading halls, it was a gateway for Korean performing arts and the only channel for international performance; in the 1970s and 1980s it was a cradle of Korea’s fine arts. In this way the Sejong Center has been the living history of Korean performing arts, a space of memory for those who love the arts, and a cultural institution representing Korea, keeping that reputation for more than twenty years.

After remodeling Sejong Grand Theater, it has renewed its hardware with Sejong Chamber Hall, Sejong M Theater, an arts-wing extension, Sejong Museum of Art, and Sejong S Theater, and it holds cultural events including Art Companion.
