Visit details

An archery pavilion built in 1899 (Gwangmu 3) by Emperor Gojong north of Hoesangjeon in Gyeonghuigung after bows left army issue in the 1894 Gabo Reform. Gojong ordered archery for public fitness and opened the pavilion; he is said to have shot there often. When Japan demolished Gyeonghuigung in 1922 it moved to the old Deunggwa pavilion site in Sajik-dong. The building is four bays by two with a paljak roof. Archery events still take place.
